愛德華

Edward's pipes were originally produced in St. Claude France when Francais actually was a

world-class pipe maker with longstanding business & political connections to Colonial Algeria

that allowed them to obtain the finest briar.

【WEBER】美國早期量產煙斗製造廠出品，老石楠木製噴砂型直式煙斗。

由噴砂後的深邃石楠木紋來看...毫無疑問的這塊料的樹齡夠老非常好。

燃燒室與斗缽口沒燒蝕碳化崩塌情形，斗嘴手工打磨~烏黑晶亮沒咬痕。

斗長 : 15.5，   斗高 : 5.0，   斗寬 : 3.9，   斗口 : 2.0 公分。

此斗已整體手工打磨大翻新、染色、做膜完畢，斗身沒啥磨損完整度優。

上圖紅色箭頭處為天然砂孔無礙抽斗，數位相機解析度高肉眼看不到啥。

Carl B. Weber was a German from Bavaria. Aged 21 he emigrated to the USA in 1911. In 1938

he established Weber Briars Inc. in Jersey City, New Jersey. Later renamed in Weber Pipe Co..

The firm grew to be one of the giants of American pipe industry focusing itself

in the middle price and quality zone. Trademark: "Weber" in an oval. Beside that

Weber - especially in the years after 1950 - was a most important supplier for

private label pipes that went to an immense number of pipe shops.

Alone in New York, exactly the same pipes were found at Wilke's,

Barclay Rex, Trinity East, Joe Strano's Northampton Tobacconist in Ridgewood, Queens, Don-Lou

in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn... Nearly all pipes for Wilke were unstained and many models,

for example the "Wilke Danish Bent", could hardly deny originating of Weber.

Among others well reputated pipemaker Anthony Passante¹ worked for Weber.

Weber Pipe Co. owned and manufactured Jobey pipes - when mainly sold in the USA

by The Tinder Box from 1970's - 80's.

In addition Jobey / Weber bought Danish freehands from Karl Erik (Ottendahl).

These pipes were offered as Jobey Dansk.

Ottendahl discontinued exports to the United States in 1987 and in the very same year -

obviously only as a ghost brand - Jobey was transferred to Saint-Claude,

France to be manufactured by Butz-Choquin.

Carl B. Weber is the author of the famous book "Weber's Guide to Pipes and Pipe Smoking".

這家老廠因收購其他斗廠...還有分丹麥與法國製造廠，並有代工品牌。

美國是由 The Tender Box 經銷發行，是早年美國的知名~量產大斗廠。

3mm主流煙道設計非常好駕馭，哪怕是初接觸的新手都能夠"輕鬆掌控"。

【J.R handmade】美國煙斗手工斗工作室出品，石楠木製牛頭犬型直斗。

可惜工作室沒檔案資料可尋，只能依落款打樣習慣判定產地也許在美國?

燃燒室與斗缽口沒燒蝕碳化崩塌情形，斗嘴手工打磨後烏黑晶亮沒咬痕。

斗長 : 14.5，   斗高 : 3.7，   斗寬 : 4.2，   斗口 : 1.9  公分。

此斗已整體手工打磨大翻新、染色、做膜完畢，外觀平整完整度非常優。

經典的牛頭犬造型歷經時代變遷仍歷久不衰，各大斗廠仍繼續生產該型。

尤其以登喜路斗廠..至今牛頭犬型煙斗仍狂銷，此斗型擁護者可謂超多。

煙道頭段為3mm鑽孔，榫頭中段濾心處為3mm設定，斗嘴末端以~2mm收尾。

歐美煙斗工作室非常多，早期沒電腦時代檔案資料現今許多已無處尋囉。

今天介紹的這支斗老娘也第一次接觸，對該工作室歷史沿革也一無所知。

只能依早期美國習慣在煙斗一側標示..義大利進口石楠木製造來做判斷。

比對相關資料疑似1949年以前生產的老斗，石楠木用料超好完整度優。

燃燒室與斗缽口沒燒蝕碳化崩塌情形，斗嘴手工打磨烏黑晶亮沒咬痕。

斗長 : 16.5，   斗高 : 5.1，   斗寬 : 4.0，   斗口 : 2.1公分。

此斗已整體手工打磨大翻新、雙色染、做膜完畢，外觀平整光滑~超美。

古典造型充滿英式品味成熟穩重，適合低調內斂斗主~氣質與線條優雅。

煙道頭段為3mm鑽孔，榫頭中段濾心處為3mm設定，斗嘴末端以2mm收尾。

• This meerschaum pipe was crafted in 1892 two years after the Kapp brothers and
• Charles Peterson patented their system (see date letter chart of
• Dublin's Assay Office and Peterson's time line).
• The silver band identifies both "Peterson" and the parent company
• "Kapp Brothers" (stamped KAPP BRO).

During the "Patent era" (1875-1915) Peterson's pipes hadn't any Country of Manufacture stamped.

Despite worn hallmarks (see enlarged view) this pipe nevertheless may be dated.

The shield shape of the three escutcheons indicates a pre-1896 pipe.

The year letter can only be a "Z" making this pipe to reach back to 1895.

The shank/stem gap: one of Peterson's odd particularity.

The tenon is slightly tapered so even if the briar or the stem material shrinks or expands

the stem can still be inserted tightly.

This allows to safely remove and replace stem while pipe is hot.

The enlarged views display the tenon extension (the condensor).

In the early years, Peterson used horn condensors (this pipe)

for their Deluxe and Premier series. Sometime in the 1940's they

changed to bakelite and finally to aluminum nowadays.

The silver hallmarks correspond to 1899 (see document).

The "2" after the word "Patent" indicates the second-highest grade offered.

This pipe from the Patent era shows no fills.

The first two escutcheon in Peterson's genuine silver hallmark are a Hibernia and a Harp.

The first mark on the band of this pipe is a Shamrock denoting a non silver metal, probably nickel.

These faux hallmarks cannot be of any help to date the pipe.

The "Irish Free State" mark was adopted in 1922 and replaced by "Eire" in 1937.

- The Irish Free State was formed on 15 January 1922.

- Eire was formed on 29 December 1937.

This unsmoked pipe should have been crafted in this period of time.

The country of manufacture stamp changed from "Made in Eire" to "Made in Ireland" (In circle)

about 1945 (this pipe). Later (1947-49) it became "MADE IN IRELAND" (block letters)

stamped in one or two lines.

【H.S - Lia's】H.S煙斗工作室莉雅的作品，石楠木製雕刻型彎式煙斗。

"全新品"由工作室女工藝師莉雅操刀作品，石楠木瘤非常漂亮細密緊實。

原廠保護碳層會反白(與老娘用的碳層配方雷同)，隔熱效果非常的優異。

斗長 : 15.0，  斗高 : 5.4，  斗寬 : 4.1，  斗口 : 2.1  公分V型。

此位女工藝師採用的雕刻法非常富有童趣，充滿古拙的刀法自然感破錶。

雕刻處好生耐心刷養..日後刀斧痕刷養溫潤後會非常美，是刷養的聖品。

煙道口以黃楊木妝飾，這位女工藝師學油畫也是位瑜珈大師作品挺超脫。

煙道頭段為3mm鑽孔，軍插式榫頭濾心處為3mm設定，斗嘴末端~2mm收尾。

莉雅本人有私人工作室，so坊間落款有兩種方式；此為H.S工作室落款。

H.S工作室雖是新工作室，但近年來非常紅火..是價格親民的手工煙斗。

該工作室網羅了數國煙斗工藝師，作品造形思維非常廣闊~選擇性多樣。

【Road Town】路鎮手工斗工作室出品，老石楠木竹節手工槌子型直斗。

是近年性價比超高的新手工斗工作室，"全新品"~是撥給經銷客戶賣滴。

咖啡色與金黃色對比鮮明的雙色染很美~(做舊風格)，走自然鄉村品味。

斗長 : 16.0，   斗高 : 5.3，   斗寬 : 3.1，   斗口 : 1.9 公分。

重量超級輕適合長時間叼斗不累，原廠新塗碳層配方與老娘用得挺類似。

這種新配方碳層略會反白(不是發霉)，是種隔熱黏性配方加上奈米碳粉。

塗碳是為了開斗做第一道防護，日後您還是要培養 0.3~0.5mm保護碳層。

煙道頭段為3mm鑽孔，鋼管榫頭濾心為3mm設定，斗嘴末端以~2mm做收尾。

斗嘴出風口做法是手工斗裡的高級工法~(非常耗時)，出風順暢超迷人。

手工非常細緻洗鍊線條掌握得挺流暢，試吸空氣入口的感受~非常舒服。

薄形斗嘴唇觸感超優且..出風細緻~集中後擴散，是支非常優的竹節斗。

【三千八百元整】性價比超高的該工作室手工斗這陣子很火~值得擁有。

該廠成立於1883年於2001年響起熄燈號，西班牙最受歡迎的煙斗品牌。

燃燒室與斗缽口沒燒蝕碳化崩塌情形，斗嘴手工打磨烏黑晶亮沒咬痕。

斗長 : 14.0，   斗高 : 4.7，   斗寬 : 3.8，   斗口 : 2.0公分。

此斗已整體手工打磨大翻新、染色、做膜完畢，外觀超美鏡面效果優。

疑與華芸煙斗廠有關?相關資料只顯現.....與9mm活性碳濾心品牌同名。

燃燒室與斗缽口沒燒蝕碳化崩塌情形，斗嘴手工打磨~烏黑晶亮沒咬痕。

斗長 : 14.5，   斗高 : 3.8，   斗寬 : 4.3，   斗口 : 2.0 公分。

此斗已整體手工整理大翻新、染色、做膜完畢，外觀噴砂樹紋深遂明顯。

採用 P 型斗嘴與標準德國9mm濾心設計，煙道通氣順暢..進氣量蠻大的。

類高爾夫球的斗缽設計非常討喜，圓滾滾的斗缽外型可愛握感非常舒適。

石楠木紋豐富漂亮密度非常優，斗身輕盈不重...適合長時間叼斗不累。

of Chicago in 1932 (Pat # 1 896 800). Linkman and Co.

After this date the brand was owned by Henry Leonard and Thomas (HLT), Inc. of Queens,

New York and produced by Sparta Pipes Inc.
In 1969, US Tobacco acquired Sparta Pipes and rights to Dr. Grabow.

The logo is the propeller pre-spade marking.

The earliest Dr. Grabow pipes are stamped with both Linkman's and

Dr. Grabow, described as Bruyere, or Italian Briar.

Pre-1944 model names included the SPECIAL, the DELUXE (this pipe), and the SUPREME.

The Linkman's stamp was discontinued around 1944.

Linkman's Dr. Grabow pipes are also stamped with a 4-digit code indicating the model and shape.

該品牌歷經法國、丹麥、義大利、美國等斗廠收購，此斗於義大利生產。

斗長 : 14.0，   斗高 : 4.9，   斗寬 : 3.5，   斗口 : 1.9  公分。

此斗已整體手工打磨大翻新、雙色染、做膜完畢，外觀古拙完整度超優。

適合海邊、樓頂陽台風大的地方使用，用料非常棒~360度火焰紋路環繞。

此斗海泡石內鍋非常完整~表示原斗主對海泡石瞭解，清煙斗非常小心。

海泡石由上古海底珊瑚與海底生物化石經萬年形成，組合類石灰材質...

所以清斗缽時不可使用三用壓棒的刮刀硬刮，許多刮受損的海泡石就是~

如此造成的。石楠木亦同要修碳時須用專用修碳刀(千萬別用壓棒刮刀)。

網路資訊氾濫(許多是垃圾資訊)，閱讀時須懂得過濾資訊不懂時就發問。
