【Dr Grabow】美國老牌量產煙斗製造大廠出品，石楠木製微彎型直斗。

金屬螺紋式榫頭可熱插拔(及時疏通煙道頭段阻塞)...早期貼心的設計。

燃燒室與斗缽口沒燒蝕碳化崩塌情形，斗嘴手工打磨~烏黑晶亮沒咬痕。

斗長 : 14.5，   斗高 : 3.5，   斗寬 : 4.1，   斗口 : 2.0 公分。

此斗已整體手工打磨大翻新、染色、做膜完畢，毫無砂孔~完整度超優。

木料非常細密(早期老料)拋光後鏡面效果超好，經典斗型~耐熱度很好。

煙道頭段為3mm鑽孔，榫頭中段濾心處為3mm設定，斗嘴末端以2mm收尾。

Dr. Grabow pipes began with Louis B. Linkman († 1957), of the M. Linkman and Co.

of Chicago in 1932 (Pat # 1 896 800). Linkman and Co.

ceased producing the Dr. Grabow pipes around 1953.

After this date the brand was owned by Henry Leonard and Thomas (HLT), Inc.

of Queens, New York and produced by Sparta Pipes Inc.
In 1969, US Tobacco acquired Sparta Pipes and rights to Dr. Grabow.
Lane Ltd. acquired the Dr. Grabow property from US Tobacco. Lane Ltd.

came under ownership of RJ Reynolds and British American Tobacco in about 2000.
Dr. Paul E. Grabow died in 1965 at age 97.
Production (2006): ~250,000 pipes/year

【BREBBIA】義大利品牌煙斗製造廠出品，石楠木製戳絞型牛頭犬直斗。

該品牌起始於1947，1953改名Brebbia.此斗型生產週序於1953~1956年。

燃燒室與斗缽口沒燒蝕碳化崩塌情形，斗嘴手工打磨~烏黑晶亮沒咬痕。

斗長 : 14.5，   斗高 : 4.8，   斗寬 : 4.0，  斗口 : 2.4  公分。

此斗已整體手工整理大翻新、染色、做膜完畢，外觀無破損~完整度優。

戳繳型斗施工非常困難(石楠木太硬)，但是完工後的效果~確實非常美。

煙道頭段為3mm鑽孔，榫頭中段濾心處為3mm設定，斗嘴末端以2mm收尾。

The Brebbia brand is named after the locality of Bosco Grosso di Brebbia

(Prov. Varese, Reg. Lombardia). A first corporate was founded by

Enea Buzzi and Achille Savinelli in 1947. They split in 1953.

Buzzi ketp the factory and created the MPB brand (Maniffatura Pipe Brebbia).

After 1968 the brand was shortly called "Brebbia".

Luciano Buzzi son of Enea manages the company since the 1990s.

Golden Gnome

The gnome was the logo Brebbia used to put on its stems from 1953 to 1956.

【REMBRANDT】美國早期量產煙斗品牌製造廠，石楠木製牛頭犬型彎斗。

該品牌活躍於1950年代前，老古董市場...已很少見到該品牌的蹤跡了。

燃燒室與斗缽口沒燒蝕碳化崩塌情形，斗嘴手工打磨~烏黑晶亮沒咬痕。

斗長 : 14.5，   斗高 : 3.6，   斗寬 : 4.3，   斗口 : 2.1 公分。

此斗已整體手工打磨大翻新、染色、做膜完畢，外觀與完整度~非常優。

經典的牛頭犬造型防燙效果特別好，原因出在最熱部份斗壁突出~超厚。

煙道頭段為3mm鑽孔，榫頭中段濾心處為3mm設定，斗嘴末端以2mm收尾。

廠牌模糊不清~反覆查證後終於找到資料，採用科西嘉島出產的石楠木。

燃燒室與斗缽口沒燒蝕碳化崩塌情形，斗嘴手工打磨~烏黑晶亮沒咬痕。

斗長 : 12.5，   斗高 : 4.6，   斗寬 : 3.4，   斗口 : 1.8 公分。

此斗已整體手工打磨大翻新、染色、做膜完畢，外觀平滑~完整度超優。

這支加拿大斗攜帶非常方便，亦可買支長斗嘴打磨後加長長度~兩用版。

此斗原廠冷凝器非常特殊(超長的)，對凝結煙道內水氣~有一定的功效。

但一般斗友都懶得用冷凝器(管)，大部份斗友都捨棄冷凝器~直通抽斗。

此斗的鳥眼紋路超漂亮，經過染色加強對比後~色澤沉穩外表油光閃閃。

【APPLE-Goldenshare】英國早期煙斗製造廠出品，老石楠木製蘋果斗。

該品牌資料已無從查找，咸信是非常早期的作品~木料超好噴砂效果優。

燃燒室與斗缽口沒燒蝕碳化崩塌情形，斗嘴手工打磨~烏黑晶亮沒咬痕。

斗長 : 15.0，   斗高 : 4.2，   斗寬 : 3.7，   斗口 : 1.9 公分。

此斗保存的非常好無須翻新(只做大美容處理)，色澤沉穩~完整度超優。

四方形煙道為其亮點，噴砂後紋路深邃~無明顯砂孔石楠木瘤非常細密。

蘋果型斗缽非常討喜...配上四方型煙道對比..更能凸顯蘋果斗缽的俏。

煙道頭段為3mm鑽孔，榫頭中段濾心處為3mm設定，斗嘴末端以2mm收尾。

起始於1930年代為美國最大煙斗煙草公司，也是美國最大~煙斗代理商。

燃燒室與斗缽口沒燒蝕碳化崩塌情形，斗嘴手工打磨~烏黑晶亮沒咬痕。

斗長 : 14.0，   斗高 : 3.9，   斗寬 : 3.6，   斗口 : 2.2 公分。

Wally Frank

Wally Frank, Ltd. was one of America's oldest and most respected names in pipes and tobaccos,

beginning in the earlt 1930’s. Wally Frank operated a chain of tobacco stores in New York City

(the flagship store was in Lexington Avenue) and had a vast catalog business for pipes and pipe tobaccos.

Their numerous private-label pipes were made by many makers, including Charatan, Sasieni, Weber,

and many others. Wally Frank, Ltd. also owned the Pioneer brand of meerschaum pipes,

made from both Turkish and African meerschaum. In addition to importing pipes,

he had many pipes made in his own name and also employed pipemakers like P

eter Stokkebye, Svend Bang, and Ed Burak (who later became the owner of Connoisseur).

As a result, each Wally Frank pipe must be individually evaluated on its own merit.

Members of Wally Frank's "The Pipe of the Month Club"

received a new pipe in the mail once a month.

In 1952, Wally Frank was on a buying trip in Italy and "discovered" pipe maker Carlo Scotti.

Frank liked Scotti's pipes, but there was the small problem of Scotti's pipes bearing

the same trademark or logo as one of Wally Frank's pipe lines, the White Bar.

The two men decided on creating a new logo for pipes sold in the U.S.:

a hole drilled in the stem and with a piece of silver foil inserted in the hole and covered with clear Lucite.

Wally Frank (the person) wrote the forward to Georges Herment's 1954 book "The Pipe."

【MEDICO - casino】美國老牌量產煙斗製造廠，石楠木製噴砂型彎斗。

此斗難得為早期庫存"全新品"老斗，現今要找這種全新老品~要靠運氣。

斗缽木料非常優~重量很輕，桃型撲克的亮面圖騰令人想起..西部牛仔。

斗長 : 14.5，   斗高 : 4.5，   斗寬 : 3.7，   斗口 : 2.3 公分。

斗嘴彎的弧度非常正確...叼斗時可避免斗缽內(後側)造成的角度偏燒。

早期的老石楠木瘤用料真奢華，不似近20年的平價煙斗~樹齡普遍偏低。

煙道頭段為3mm鑽孔，榫頭中段濾心處為6mm設定，斗嘴末端以2mm收尾。

前兩天溜去周休二日跑去野溪溫泉~越野泡湯洗溫泉，兩天沒介紹煙斗。

關在市區真是關怕了...去吸取一些山川靈氣，同樣抽斗..環境很重要。

不一樣的溪谷泡在滿天星斗的露天溫泉池抽煙斗...是真滴非常享受耶 !

典雅獨特的線條外觀，有桌斗功能可自行穩穩站立~重翻新後顏質爆錶。

【Road Town】近年爆紅歐美煙斗工作室作品，石楠木製手工微彎直斗。

此斗為"全新品"雕刻非噴砂斗，手工細膩木料精選...質感非常的高雅。

斗嘴修長...對煙道內熱煙器降溫效果佳，斗長類似稍短版的..閱讀斗。

斗長 : 17.5，   斗高 : 3.3，   斗寬 : 4.0，   斗口 : 2.0 公分。

斗身非常輕適合長時間叼斗，一斗菸草可享受30分鐘~(視斗主的技術)。

工商業社會繁忙無法長時間抽斗，此斗提供短時間抽斗...點火更方便。

斗型經典線條不喧嘩，雕刻細紋路除了造型美觀...最主要是幫助散熱。

【TOUVENI】加拿大早期煙斗工作室作品，石楠木雕刻創作手工大彎斗。

該早期工作室查不到任何信息，雕刻趣味性極濃又是全新品~值得收藏。

前任收藏家沒捨得抽，到老娘手中也是純收藏~沒事就刷養刷養純觀賞。

斗長 : 17.0，   斗高 : 5.0，   斗寬 : 3.2，   斗口 : 2.0 公分。

此斗雕刻的太有趣味了，類似的雕刻靴子造型在早期...各有類似作品。

因為是全新品所以完整度超優，早先幾年~也曾進口過一支抽過的靴子。

純就煙斗藝術品收藏...這種純樸的雕工刀法頗受老娘青睞充滿趣味性。

煙道頭段為3mm鑽孔，榫頭中段濾心處為3mm設定，斗嘴末端以2mm收尾。

此斗木料密度相當優非常細密，這種老木料的抽斗品質~常常令人驚艷。

此斗也是刷養聖品，常用豬鬃刷刷養~等雕刻刀斧痕溫潤後會驚喜連連。

斗長 : 16.5，  斗高 : 5.3，  斗寬 : 4.9，  斗口 : 2.3公分V型。

此斗已整體手工打磨大翻新、雙色染、做膜完畢，斗嘴升級為~全新品。

原廠鋼印字跡清晰斗身無刮痕，手工打磨平整細膩~整支斗完整度超優。

Brand founded in the 1860's at Leeds (GB). Lane Ltd. (NYC) bought the brand in 1962 and closed the factory in Leeds in 1965. The pipes were then manufactured in London at Charatan's. During the period 1972 (about) - 1989 Ben Wade pipes were mass produced for Lane Ltd. by Preben Holm's worshop in his very personal style.
Peter Wilson owner of Duncan Pipes bought the rights of the brand in 1998.

這家超級大斗廠太令人懷念了，1970年代台灣進口煙斗~就見到其蹤跡。

燃燒室與斗缽口沒燒蝕碳化崩塌情形，斗嘴手工打磨~烏黑晶亮沒咬痕。

斗長 : 16.0，   斗高 : 4.8，   斗寬 : 3.8，   斗口 : 2.1 公分。

此斗已整體手工打磨大翻新、染色、做膜完畢，外觀平滑~完整度很優。

斗長達16公分對新手非常有利，熱菸氣經過長長的煙道~降溫效果顯著。

The brown and chestnut colored flame grain finish is in good condition.

It has a few light dings and handling marks but none too bad.

該斗廠資料是個謎(遍搜無著)，美國一位翻新煙斗工作者也找不到資料。

燃燒室與斗缽口沒燒蝕碳化崩塌情形，斗嘴手工打磨後烏黑晶亮沒咬痕。

斗長 : 14.5，   斗高 : 3.8，   斗寬 : 4.4，   斗口 : 2.1  公分。

此斗已整體手工打磨大翻新、雙色染、做膜完畢，外觀古拙鏡面效果優。

廠牌字跡清晰~但是找不到該廠資料，石楠木瘤非常細密~火焰紋很漂亮。

木料與木紋為當今一級料的條件，沒見到砂孔..真是令人太喜出望外了。

煙道頭段為3mm鑽孔，金屬榫頭濾心處為6mm設定，斗嘴末端以~2mm收尾。

這支老古董斗木料很棒所以被老娘私藏...可惜被迫列入此波釋出名單。

非常便利的攜帶型(揣在口袋超方便)，菸草容量非常理想~算大容量型。

燃燒室與斗缽口沒燒蝕碳化崩塌情形，斗嘴手工打磨~烏黑晶亮沒咬痕。

斗長 : 12.5，  斗高 : 5.1，  斗寬 : 3.5，  斗口 : 2.1 公分V型。

此斗已整體手工打磨大翻新、雙色染、做膜完畢，外觀鏡面效果~超優。

金屬螺旋榫頭可熱插拔，一斗菸草約可享受60分鐘~(視技術有所增減)。

▲  Among the seven Oversize finishes shown in the 1947 catalog, two were banded: the "Goliath" (Virgin finish) and the "Hercules" (Walnut finish). This pipe seems to be a "Hercules".

▲ Among the Oversize models only one is meerschaum lined (see this pipe detailed views): It is called the "Samson".

All the Oversize models are stamped "Hand Made".

 

Red Root

The Red Root is not a part of the original Kaywoodie line. It is a style of pipe introduced in 1976 by S.M. Frank after that company purchased Kaywoodie.

The model has a flat bottom (hence "Setter") and is available in panel (this pipe), billiard and poker shapes. It comes without system (stinger) and with a push stem.

 

Shellcraft

Stampings of a Shellcraft pipe crafted in the early 1930s with a Synchro-stem system. The pipe is sandblasted while the early Shellcraft was rusticated. The "drinkless logo" on the stem has been replaced by a clover and a 4 digit shape number has been attributed indicating thus the entry of the Shellcraft into Kaywoodie's lines.

Pipes of the Silhouette line allways came in a sandblasted finish and with a metal band.

The bit incorporated a 3-way smoke passage with two of the passages terminating in the lip-end of the bit and the third in the notch on the top of the bit (see enlarged picture #3).

The model has been released in the early 1950's

Super Grain

▲ This pipe is stamped with a four digit number which situates its production year between 1931 and 1938. Because of the introduction of the "Imported Briar" stamping in 1935, the pipe could have been manufactured between 1935 and 1938.

Compare the stampings of these two pipes: Early Super Grains were stamped Super Grain over top of Kaywoodie.

 

White Briar

▲ The Streamliner shape above with a White Briarfinish was already intruduced in 1953 since it appeared on a calendar of that year.

Period: 1951-1989

The bowls of the White Briar line come with hard white finish. Note a different screw thread as for the usual Synchro Stem patent. (Compare enlarged view with the following document)

【HIALFAH】美國早期煙斗品牌製造廠，老石楠木製雕刻牛頭犬型直斗。

HIALEAH煙斗是在1975年以前由..Whitehall Products Co.所出售的。

此斗為全新品(是此波老娘私藏釋出的收藏)，採用阿爾及利亞上等石楠。

斗長 : 14.5，   斗高 : 4.6，   斗寬 : 3.8，   斗口 : 2.0公分。

此斗用料超優~石楠木瘤年格夠老，紋路優重量非常輕適合長時間叼斗。

斗缽原廠未塗保護碳層，出貨前您可要求塗上保護碳層~(此為免費滴)。

煙道頭段3mm鑽孔，金屬螺旋榫頭附冷凝器3mm設定，斗嘴末端2mm收尾。

此斗的木料是其亮點..3mm主流煙道設計非常好駕馭，也是刷養斗聖品。

此斗常常用豬鬃刷刷養雕刻凹槽處...日久刀斧痕溫潤露出木紋超級美。

金屬螺旋榫頭可熱插拔，勿旋轉太緊可避免走位~萬一跑位是可調整的。
